On October 31st, aka Halloween, your little ghouls and goblins will probably end up with a pretty good haul of candy. While they will no doubt be delighted, as a parent, you may be less excited about all that sugar.
While candy is the pay-off for going door to door on Halloween, those gains can make parents worry about their kids teeth. As we know, sugar is BAD for teeth. Eating too much candy can cause dental issues, such as cavities. This is because the naturally occurring bacteria in the mouth loves to feed on sugar, and once it does, it breaks it down into acids that eat away at tooth enamel. While tooth decay is largely preventable, it remains the most common chronic disease in children ages 2 - 11 yrs. old.
A Halloween Candy Buy Back Program is just the thing to help you get rid of some of that sugary surplus!
This Halloween, New Hampshire Family Dentistry is happy to announce that we will be sponsoring a Halloween Candy Buy Back from November 1st through November 10th. We will be buying your child's Halloween candy for $1.00 per pound! We will be partnering with Operation Gratitude, a non-profit organization that will be adding the candy that we collect to care packages that are mailed to those who are working to protect our county around the world. Bring your candy to our office at 2626 Brown Ave. in Manchester and help to bring some smiles and happiness to our US troops serving broad!
